The Westchester Medical Group, P.C., forms with 15 physicians. Dr. Simeon Schwartz is president of the Rye Brook-based group.

Eighteen physicians with the White Plains-based Northeast Permanente Medical Group, PC, join the 26 physicians with The Westchester Medical Group, P.C., and lease the 80,000-square-foot medical office, which was owned and operated by Kaiser Permanente. The group has a total of six sites and extensive in-house laboratory services. Dr. Simeon Schwartz, President and Dr. Barney Newman, Medical Director, jointly lead the Group.

Six physicians with the Mamaroneck-based Medical Pulmonary Associates of Westchester join The Westchester Medical Group, P.C., bringing the total to 50 physicians at six sites.

The Westchester Medical Group implements an electronic medical records (EMR) system.

The Group expands to include physicians in nephrology, radiology, neurology, and internal medicine, bringing the total to 70 physicians, 60 FTEs since some physicians are part-time. The physicians practice in six sites with over 20 specialties represented.

The Group adds PACS, a filmless X-ray system, MRI and Nuclear Medicine.  In the last quarter, a secure Web site is piloted in internal medicine at 210 Westchester Avenue to enable patients to communicate with their physicians and schedule appointments online.

Six physicians from Rye Brook OB/GYN join the Group, bringing the number of OB/GYNs in the Group to eight.

The Group opens an Urgent Care Center at 210 Westchester Avenue, White Plains, the first of its kind in the area.

Pediatricians Dr. Ben Glassman and Dr. Eugene Wasserman join the Group, bringing the number of pediatricians to six.

The total number of physicians in the Group totals 100.

Ophthalmologists Dr. John Ettenson and Dr. Steven Greenberg join the Group.

• Mid-Westchester Medical Associates joins, including Drs. Sheldon Alter, David Cziner, Martin Feingold, Steven Fink, Peter Muehlbauer, Zorayda Pretto, Jonathan Rie, Herbert Ross, Michael Silver, Jonathan Wynn and Sanford Zevon.
  

Endocrinology Associates Dr. David K. Bloomgarden, Dr. Kenneth R. Weiser, and Dr. Jonathon Weinstein join the Group.

• Vascular Surgeons of Westchester, including Dr. Kenneth Schwartz, Dr. George Piccorelli, and Dr. Neil Weintraub of Westchester, join the Group.
• The Group’s 2nd Urgent Care Center opens at 1 Theall Road, Rye.

Internists Drs. Jerry Campanella, Ronald Dennett and Steven Kubersky join the Group.

The OB/GYN practice of Drs. Diane Ainsworth, Maria Abbattista, Jennifer Meyer and Celina Ponce, become part of the Group.

Westchester Cardiology Associates of Scarsdale joins the Group, including Drs. Mitchell Fishbach, Gary Gabelman, Richard Grose, Douglas Hart and Anthony Mercando.

• Associates for Women’s Care, an OB/GYN practice in Scarsdale, becomes part of the Group, bringing Dr. Joshua Waldman and Dr. Jordan Hirsch.
• Dr. Joan Goodman, a radiologist, comes aboard with a focus on women's imaging.
• Dr. David Xiong, a pain management specialist, joins Dr. Stephen Andrus in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at 210 Westchester Avenue.

• Dr. Jacob Finkelstein, an experienced board-certified surgeon, joins Dr. Adora Fou as the second breast surgeon at the 1 Theall Road office in Rye.
• Dr. Christina Blanco comes to us as a new pediatrician joining the pediatric practice of Drs. Barbara Coven, Laura Macbeth, Wendy Proskin, Deborah Scheinthal, Vito Sessa, and Mitchell Stevens.

Dr. Matthew Weissley joins Dr. Stuart Feldman and Dr. Simeon Schwartz as a fulltime hematologist / oncologist.

Dr. Grace Biggs joins Drs. Bryan Blair and Judd Boczko in the Urology Department, seeing male and female patients for the full spectrum of urological problems. Her specialized areas of interest are voiding dysfunction, pelvic organ collapse (herniation of female organs), overactive bladder, incontinence issues, sexual dysfunction, minimally invasive and robotic surgery.

Dr. Christopher Mattern becomes WESTMED's fourth orthopedic surgeon, seeing patients at 210 Westchester Avenue and 1 Theall Road.

The OB/GYN Division of the Scardsale Medical Group, with offices at 170 Maple Avenue, White Plains, joins. The physicians, all board-certified in OB/GYN, are: Drs. Bonnie Eilen, James Howard, Helen Jhang, Jay Lupin, Catherine McGovern, Barry Meisel, Christine Vyskocil, and Randee Wysoki.

• WESTMED opens a state-of-the-art anatomic pathology laboratory at 210 Westchester Avenue, White Plains. This new lab has the latest automated instrumentation for pathology and cytology.
• Dr. Rupal Patel comes aboard as an internist at 1 Theall Road, Rye.

WESTMED announces the opening of its affiliate, the Rye Ambulatory Surgery Center, on the campus of its multi-specialty medical offices at 1 Theall Road. The ASC offers a full range of outpatient surgical services.

• Dr. Cy Blanco joins Drs. Stephen Andrus and Joseph Cole as a fulltime pain management / anesthesiology specialist.
