WESTMED Gets Highest Recognition as NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home

Released: 4/22/2016

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has announced that WESTMED Medical Group has again achieved NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Recognition at Level 3, the highest achievable level. The recognition is for Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at these locations: -  210 Westchester Avenue, White Plains; 3030 Westchester Avenue, Purchase; Ridge Hill in Yonkers;  171 Huguenot St., New Rochelle and 1 Theall Rd., Rye.

The patient-centered medical home model is a way of organizing primary care in adult and pediatric medicine to emphasize care coordination and communication between patient and provider to transform primary care into "what patients want it to be." Medical homes can lead to higher quality and lower costs, and can improve patients’ and providers’ experience of care.

The National Committee for Quality Assurance is a private, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. Since its founding in 1990, NCQA has been a central figure in driving improvement throughout the health care system, helping to elevate the issue of health care quality to the top of the national agenda.
