National Smoking Bans are Saving Lives

Bans on smoking in public places in many countries have helped save the lives of nonsmokers, particularly from heart disease, researchers are saying.  Their finding refers to the effects of smoking bans not only in the U.S., but in 21 countries, including England and Scotland.  


Tobacco is the second leading cause of death worldwide, responsible for about 10 percent of adult deaths.
