Are Telephone and Web-Based Quit Smoking Programs Successful?

About 30% of smokers who use a Web-based or telephone-based smoking cessation program kick the habit, according to the medical journal Cancer, published  by the American Cancer Society. All programs also offered free nicotine replacement therapy. 
 

 

For an example of this type of help for smokers: New York State’s Smokers’ Quitline offers live coaching via telephone, along with “social support” via Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and its own online community, QuNITY.
